 Breaking: INEC Confirms, Acknowledges Dino Melaye Recall Petition In a press statement dated June 22, the electoral body announced that it would begin the process of recalling Mr. Melaye after verifying that the petitioners are registered to vote in Kogi West Senatorial District. Dino Melaye The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed on Thursday that it received the petition signed by Kogi West voters demanding the recall of their senator, Dino Melaye. In a press statement dated June 22, the electoral body announced that it would begin the process of recalling Mr. Melaye after verifying that the petitioners are registered to vote in Kogi West Senatorial District.  The verification exercise will hold on July 3, 2017.  INEC stated that it has informed Mr. Melaye and the petitioners' representatives of its receipt of the petition. A report had emerged three weeks ago that a  student  of Achievers University, Owo, was infected with the disease and hospitalised at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo.He, however, noted that the victim, who must have contracted it from her residence off campus, had been treated at the FMC in Owo and should be discharged soon.
