A 33-year-old local musician identified as Jared McLemore, has committed suicide after setting himself on fire in front of his ex-girlfriend in an alleged revenge attempt to punish her for not getting back together with him.

According to Dailymail, the victim filmed himself sitting on the road outside a popular bar in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday night and broadcast it on Facebook Live.

His ex-girlfriend, Alyssa Moore, was working as a sound engineer inside the popular night spot.

McLemore who had a history of domestic violence, was seen at the start of the two-minute video soaked in kerosene. He was then seeing getting up and walking away, before running back into the shot about one minute later.

He then picked up a container of kerosene and poured more of it over himself, before setting himself alight.
Horrified witnesses are then heard in the video screaming as McLemore stood up and ran back into the bar. The video continued to show flames on the ground.

While speaking with a news reporter, an eyewitness said that the victim ran into the bar on fire, prompting people to throw towels and clothing on him in an attempt to save his life.

Kimberly Koehler who was performing with her band in the bar, said; ‘It looked like a movie, like someone wearing a flame-retardant suit. There were some people who thought that it was a joke.

‘I was thinking, "how can I put him out before the kerosene spreads and somebody’s cigarette hits it?"’Other witness accounts said McLemore approached Moore before setting himself on fire, and wiped his kerosene-soaked body across her arm.

A GoFundMe page created to help Moore read; ‘Jared waited until the second band playing that night had finished its set, when he knew Alyssa would walk away from the soundboard.

‘Jared approached Alyssa and mumbled something about "goodbye," then grabbed her arm and wiped it on his chest to show he was covered in kerosene.

‘He crossed the street, and when he saw Alyssa had walked outside, he quickly doused his body with more kerosene and lit himself on fire, streaming on Facebook Live, in full view of onlookers concerned for Alyssa’s ‘Jared ran for Alyssa, in his final attempt to take what he was supposedly denied, by trying to catch her on fire too.’

The page then details how Moore reportedly was able to hold McLemore off by blocking the door, ‘until the heat from the flames became too much for her to stand’ and she ran from her ex.

‘Jared ran inside Murphy’s repeatedly, declaring that "she made me do this" while the remaining patrons watched in horror and used anything they could (jackets, cups of beer, etc.) to try to save him and keep the entire bar from going up in flames,’ the post reads.
 safety.

Senate Finally Passes Peace Corps Bill   The Senate on Tuesday finally passed a bill to make the Nigerian Peace Corps a para- military agency.   The Senate adopted the conference report on the bill to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps, after it was so advised by its committee on judiciary, human rights and legal matters. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives had separately passed the bill last year.   However, after the harmonisation of the two separate bills, the Senate had rejected the harmonised version, which has now been approved.   The bill will be sent to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent after the House also approves the harmonised version.   It is not clear if the presidency will approve of the bill as several departments in the executive including the police and the military are opposed to the legalisation of the Peace Corps which is currently a private NGO.
